Laat u leiden door een stad met een opmerkelijk architecturaal en landschappelijk erfgoed aan de bron van de Boutonne. CAPUT betekent "hoofd" (bron) en dus Chef, en VULTON, dat in de loop der jaren "Boutonne" is geworden, moet men begrijpen dat de Boutonne zijn bron heeft in het hart van Chef-Boutonne!
De wandeling voert u langs verschillende etappes: de kerk Notre-Dame, die over de hele oude stad uitkijkt, het kasteel van Javarzay, gebouwd in 1513 door François de Rochechouart en een van de belangrijkste in de Poitou, de vijver en het park (arboretum), de Place Cail, de steegjes, het park van het stadhuis en het openluchttheater, en de kerk Saint-Chartier in Javarzay.
