Interesse geologico
L'Haut du Roc poggia su una base di granito coronata da un immenso altopiano di arenaria dei Vosgi, che è stato ribaltato e fratturato. Questo altopiano di arenaria è disseminato di un gran numero di blocchi erratici trasportati dagli antichi ghiacciai. Questi fenomeni sono piuttosto comuni in montagna, in quanto sono la prova della glaciazione
L'Haut-du-Roc, il punto più alto in cui si trova l'arenaria dei Vosgi, è anche un sito naturale classificato dalla Direzione regionale dell'ambiente della Lorena.
