Il sito archeologico di Aquae Segetae? "Aquae Segetae era una delle cinquantadue città d'acqua dell'Impero Romano e fu un importante luogo di pellegrinaggio durante il suo periodo di massimo splendore nel II secolo d.C.. I resti di un grande cortile di culto fiancheggiato da gallerie con colonnati sono attualmente conservati nel comune di Sceaux-du-Gâtinais e costituivano il santuario monumentale della città. Una vasca, chiamata anche "ninfeo", raccoglieva le acque di una sorgente sacra. In relazione alla devozione per la dea Segeta, nota soprattutto per le sue virtù legate alla fertilità, i pellegrini facevano offerte per essere curati. Sotto i nostri piedi si trovano i resti di una città romana più grande e complessa di quanto si possa immaginare.
