A Roman piece of work that still exists! Considered as a place of pilgrimage, this 25-hectare second city is situated to the west of Ferrières-en-Gâtinais on the ancient Romand road between Sens and Orléans and was one of the 52 spa towns of the Roman empire. At the heart of the fortifications of the sanctuary, the mermaid is waiting to be discovered: the sacred waters, placed under the benevolence of the Gauloise goddess Segeta, were thought to heal diseases and infertile women. Undoubtedly the most beautiful archaeological site on Loiret.
