È una delle chiese più antiche di Francia. Il coro, risalente al VI e VII secolo, è costruito sui resti di un santuario romano e di un mausoleo cristiano. Nel coro sono visibili due tratti di muro (IV e V secolo) e una stele cristiana.
La navata centrale è stata costruita interamente in epoca romanica tra il X e il XII secolo. Capitelli originali lo adornano: draghi e grifoni, e una composizione unica che associa il matrimonio, la sirena della tentazione e l'Eucaristia. Il restauro della chiesa tra il 2010 e il 2013 ha portato alla scoperta di un affresco del XIV-XV secolo.
La chiesa è stata classificata come monumento storico nel 1913.
