Es una de las iglesias más antiguas de Francia. El coro, que data de los siglos VI y VII, está construido sobre los restos de un santuario romano y un mausoleo cristiano. En el coro son visibles dos tramos de muralla (siglos IV y V) y una estela cristiana.
La nave fue construida en su totalidad en el periodo románico, entre los siglos X y XII. Capiteles originales la adornan: dragones y grifos, y una composición única que asocia el matrimonio, la sirena de la tentación y la Eucaristía. La restauración de la iglesia entre 2010 y 2013 permitió descubrir un fresco del siglo XIV-XV.
La iglesia fue catalogada como Monumento Histórico en 1913.
