Het is een van de oudste kerken van Frankrijk. Het koor, daterend uit de 6e en 7e eeuw, is gebouwd op de resten van een Romeins heiligdom en een christelijk mausoleum. In het koor zijn twee muurdelen (4e en 5e eeuw) en een christelijke stele zichtbaar.
Het schip werd volledig gebouwd in de romaanse periode tussen de 10e en 12e eeuw. Originele kapitelen sieren het: draken en griffioenen, en een unieke compositie die het huwelijk, de sirene van de verleiding en de eucharistie associeert. De restauratie van de kerk tussen 2010 en 2013 leidde tot de ontdekking van een fresco uit de 14e-15e eeuw.
Geclassificeerd als Historisch Monument in 1913 (Kerk).
