I Jardins d'Astrid sono costituiti da un giardino d'ombra e da un giardino di luce, che danno un'idea visiva del giardino in cui le piante sono libere di evolversi, ma sempre ben curate. Ci sono molti arbusti: ortensie, filliree, vari viburni, cinorrodi fioriti, rose antiche, piante perenni?
Tutte soluzioni a vincoli multipli, ovvero: trovare la pianta giusta per soddisfare i vari criteri:
- Posizionamento corretto in relazione ai punti della bussola
- Compatibilità tra le piante (in particolare le distanze di impianto)
- Armonia con l'ambiente regionale.
- Sobrietà: privilegiare il fogliame verde, le forme sottili, il colore della corteccia e i profumi.
- Colori tenui che si fondono armoniosamente.
