Ongar è una parrocchia civile nel distretto di Epping Forest nell'Essex, Inghilterra. Oltre alla città di Chipping Ongar, include anche Greensted, Greensted Green, Marden Ash e Shelley. Il consiglio locale della parrocchia è il Consiglio Comunale di Ongar. Situata a circa 21 miglia a nord-est di Londra, è una parrocchia parzialmente sviluppata con ampie sezioni di terra aperta.
Il nome "Ongar" significa "terra di prato". La parrocchia è stata creata nel 1965 come un'amalgama delle parrocchie civili di Chipping Ongar, Greenstead e Shelley nel distretto rurale di Epping e Ongar. Nel 1974 la parrocchia è diventata parte del distretto di Epping Forest.
