Honiton è una città di mercato e parrocchia civile nell'East Devon, situata vicino al fiume Otter, a 17 miglia a nord-est di Exeter nella contea di Devon. Honiton ha una popolazione stimata di 11.822.
La città si sviluppò lungo la linea del Fosse Way, l'antica strada romana che collegava Exeter a Lincoln. Contrariamente alle teorie del XIX secolo, è improbabile che fosse conosciuta come un punto di sosta dai romani, che costruirono un piccolo forte a tale scopo appena a ovest dell'attuale città. La posizione di Honiton è menzionata nel Domesday Book come Honetone, che significa il tun o fattoria di Huna.
