La valle è stata scolpita dal fiume Trevillet a Trethevy, circa un miglio a est di Tintagel. Al loro punto più alto, le pareti del canyon di ardesia si innalzano per oltre settanta piedi sopra il fiume sottostante. Rocky Valley è stata menzionata in libri di viaggio come un luogo di bellezza eccezionale già nel 1897. La valle è di proprietà del National Trust ed è casa di 161 diverse specie di muschio.
