De vallei is uitgeslepen door de Trevillet-rivier in Trethevy, ongeveer een mijl ten oosten van Tintagel. Op het hoogste punt torenen de leisteenkloven meer dan zeventig voet boven de rivier eronder uit. Rocky Valley werd al in 1897 in reisgidsen genoemd als een plek van uitzonderlijke schoonheid. De vallei is eigendom van de National Trust en herbergt 161 verschillende soorten mos. Saint Nectan's Glen is een bosgebied dat zich ongeveer een mijl uitstrekt langs beide oevers van de Trevillet-rivier; het meest kenmerkende is St Nectan's Kieve.
