Cashes Green Halt è stato aperto il 22 gennaio 1930 su quello che oggi è la linea Golden Valley tra Stroud e Stonehouse. Questa linea è stata aperta nel 1845 come la Cheltenham and Great Western Union Railway da Swindon a Gloucester e questa era una delle molte piccole stazioni e soste costruite su questa linea per il servizio passeggeri locale. Questa particolare sosta è stata costruita dopo le altre ed è stata realizzata per servire il nuovo sviluppo abitativo di Cashes Green a ovest di Stroud in risposta a una richiesta pubblica.
