La tomba fittizia è cosparsa di ciottoli (con messaggi per Dobby) e calzini. È con un calzino che Harry Potter salva Dobby dal padrone Lucius Malfoy. "Dobby non ha padrone. Dobby è un elfo libero" dice Dobby quando il mago Harry Potter lo libera dalla schiavitù. I fan hanno quindi deciso anni fa di onorare Dobby con una tomba situata nelle dune, come nella serie di film. Distrand è anche il luogo di ripresa utilizzato in due film di Harry Potter: Harry Potter e i Doni della Morte – Parte 1 e Parte 2.
