Koulés è una fortezza nel porto di Héraklion. Fu costruita intorno al 1540 dai Veneziani.
Ci sono venti stanze e magazzini al piano terra dietro spesse mura dove sono ancora stoccati proiettili di cannone medievali. Sul tetto si trova una grande galleria che offre una vista mozzafiato sul mare. Sotto il forte si trova un corridoio segreto buio (è permesso entrarvi all'inizio), utilizzato per fuggire e sorprendere il nemico all'uscita.
Quando i Turchi presero il controllo di Creta, il forte fu anche utilizzato come prigione.
È un esempio straordinariamente ben conservato dell'architettura militare del XVI secolo.
