Il Platano d'Ippocrate è un esemplare di Platanus orientalis sotto il quale, secondo la leggenda, Ippocrate di Coo insegnava ai suoi allievi l'arte della medicina di cui è considerato il padre fondatore. Secondo la tradizione sotto tale albero predicò anche Paolo di Tarso.
L'albero è situato nel centro della città di Coo nella "Piazza del Platano" di fronte al Castello dei Cavalieri e accanto alla moschea di Gazi Hassan , ha una estensione di circa 12 metri ed è considerato uno dei più grandi platani d'Europa.
