Il Gola di Rintomos è uno dei più grandi canyon della Mani. La gola è anche descritta da Sir Patrick Leigh Fermor nel suo classico libro di escursionismo "Mani: Viaggi nel Peloponneso Meridionale". Superò questa gola dopo aver preso un jeep da Sparta ad Anavryti. Da lì, lui e il suo gruppo camminarono, senza muli o altri portatori di bagagli, fino al crinale a Portes e poi oltre la montagna. Nella loro discesa, seguirono la Gola di Rintomos e emersero dopo grandi sforzi per raggiungere la civiltà a Kampos.
