L'antico borgo medievale, sorto lungo il torrente omonimo, presenta tipiche case in pietra a vista site in stretti vicoli, caruggi e piazzette. Caratteristici sono i due ponti del tardo Medioevo, costruiti con forma a schiena d'asino, situati all'entrata e all'uscita del borgo.
Sul versante opposto i terrazzamenti coltivati ad uliveti sono sostituiti, verso l'alto, dai boschi e dai pascoli che ricoprono il monte Faudo , già luogo di un'importante frequentazione umana risalente al neolitico. Altra vetta del territorio è il monte Pallarea , al confine amministrativo con Montalto Carpasio.
