Pineto è un comune italiano di 14 454 abitanti della provincia di Teramo in Abruzzo. Nota stazione balneare del Medio Adriatico, dal 2006 ha ottenuto numerose assegnazioni del riconoscimento Bandiera blu.
Il 30 maggio 1930, la sede comunale di Mutignano venne spostata nel nuovo centro abitato di Villa Filiani in seguito al suo rapido popolamento, cambiando conseguentemente il nome nell'attuale Pineto.
