Castel Gandolfo è un comune italiano di 8 627 abitanti della città metropolitana di Roma Capitale, nell'area dei Castelli Romani. Il centro abitato fa parte del circuito dei Borghi più belli d'Italia.
È conosciuta soprattutto per la presenza della residenza estiva dei papi, alla quale fanno corona molte altre residenze estive, ville e villini edificati a partire dal XVII secolo. Il suo territorio include quasi tutto l'arco costiero del lago Albano con vista sul cono vulcanico di Monte Cavo, che ospita tra l'altro lo stadio olimpico di canottaggio del CONI.
