La città sorge nella valle del Chiampo, situata nella zona ovest della Provincia, ed è famosa per il settore conciario e meccanico. Attraversata dal torrente Chiampo è circondata da colline. Proseguendo verso il nord la valle è circondata da una corona di montagne, appartenenti al Parco naturale regionale della Lessinia.
