Valvestino è situato nella valle omonima, tra la Valle Sabbia e il Lago di Garda. È composto dalle cinque frazioni di Armo, Bollone, Moerna, Persone e Turano. La sede municipale si trova nel paese di Turano. È uno dei nove comuni membri della Comunità Montana Parco Alto Garda Bresciano con sede a Gargnano e il suo territorio comprende la parte nord del lago di Valvestino.
