Il territorio è esteso per 53 km² nella parte sud-occidentale del Piemonte, abbarbicato in parte sulla collina ai piedi del Monte Bracco, immerso nella cornice del Monviso.
Il clima è temperato sub-continentale con inverni discretamente freddi ed estati moderatamente calde.
