Il dislivello altimetrico va da un minimo di 180 m s.l.m. nella zona di Castellina Scalo ad un massimo di 626 m s.l.m. nella zona del Monte Cavallaro; il capoluogo è posto a 578 m. Il suo territorio è interamente compreso nel Chianti Classico.
