Piazza Armerina è un comune italiano di 20 688 abitanti del libero consorzio comunale di Enna in Sicilia.
È sede di vescovado con un'estesa diocesi. Il territorio di Piazza Armerina sorge su un'altura dei monti Erei meridionali, nella parte centro-orientale della Sicilia, a 697 m d'altitudine. Fino al 1927 era capoluogo di un esteso circondario e sede di sottoprefettura, quando non era ancora stata istituita la provincia di Enna, alla quale fu inglobata.
