Il territorio comunale si trova stretto tra le ultime propaggini meridionali dei monti Aurunci dell'Antiappennino laziale, che comunque arrivano a toccare i 1 368 m del monte Altino, e la costa del Golfo di Gaeta dove, tra le spiagge più note, si citano quelle di Vindicio e di Gianola. Verso sud-est il territorio si fa sempre più pianeggiante, aprendosi verso la piana di Minturno.
