La fortezza austro-ungarica di Lavarone , meglio nota come Forte Belvedere Gschwent, sorge a quota 1177 metri a sud della contrada Oseli su di uno sperone roccioso che si spinge verso la Valdastico e la valle del Rio Torto, dominandone le testate. Il forte appartiene al grande sistema di fortificazioni austriache al confine italiano.
