Cava de' Tirreni è un comune italiano di 50 564 abitanti della provincia di Salerno in Campania, parte dell'area tutelata del Parco regionale dei Monti Lattari.
La città di Cava de' Tirreni sorge a ridosso del Mar Tirreno, a 5 km nell'entroterra della Costiera Amalfitana, rappresentandone in pratica la porta nord. L'abitato centrale si sviluppa a 198 m s.l.m., confina a nord con i comuni di Nocera Superiore, Roccapiemonte e Mercato San Severino, ad est con quelli di Baronissi, Pellezzano e Salerno, a sud con Vietri sul Mare e Maiori, ad ovest con Tramonti. La città funge da cerniera tra l'area geografica dell'Agro nocerino-sarnese e quella della penisola sorrentina-amalfitana .
