Il Granducato di Lussemburgo è una monarchia costituzionale ereditaria con un sistema parlamentare, situato tra Belgio, Germania e Francia. Il Granduca Enrico I è il capo di stato dal ottobre 2000.
Fa parte dell'Unione Europea dal 25 marzo 1957. È quindi uno dei fondatori. Insieme a Belgio e Paesi Bassi forma il Benelux.
