Il Palazzo dei Principi è la residenza ufficiale del principe di Monaco. Fondato in origine nel 1191 come una fortezza genovese, durante la sua lunga e sovente drammatica storia, esso venne bombardato e assediato da alcune potenze straniere, nel tentativo di impadronirsi del piccolo Stato di Monaco. Dal 1297 esso divenne la residenza ancestrale della famiglia Grimaldi che regnarono sull'area dapprima come signori feudali, e poi dal XVII secolo come principi sovrani.
