Bas Maters - Arnhem, 2000
Il masso galleggiante è stato installato nel 2000 come parte del progetto di sviluppo territoriale "Marshoek-Hoonhorst". Questo straordinario punto di riferimento con la sua inclinazione si integra bene nel paesaggio leggermente inclinato del Vechtdal ed è splendidamente completato dalle pecore che pascolano qui. Lo stesso Bas Maters definisce la sua creazione una cosa primordiale: un enorme masso che si equilibra su un elemento colonnare storto, come si vede nelle antiche rovine. La cosa primordiale è costruita attorno a una struttura in acciaio che scende fino a ben diciassette metri nel terreno. Nessuna costruzione esagerata, perché il peso totale del masso è di circa trenta tonnellate!
