Zieuwent (Söwent) è uno dei paesi della comunità di Oost Gelre nell'Achterhoek, nella provincia olandese di Gelderland. Fino al 1 gennaio 2005, faceva parte del comune soppresso di Lichtenvoorde. Il villaggio conta circa 1.980 abitanti. Nella lingua locale Achterhoeks, Zieuwent è chiamato 't Söwent, quindi come 'Il Zieuwent'. Il Zieuwent, scritto nel medioevo come 'Synwede', significa originariamente 'prato basso' o zona paludosa. Si trovava nella parte nord-ovest dell'ex comune di Lichtenvoorde e nella parte sud dell'ex comune di Ruurlo. Quest'ultima parte, Zieuwent sotto Ruurlo, veniva e viene ancora ufficialmente chiamata anche 't Achter-Söwent, quindi come "Il Retro-Zieuwent". La regione faceva parte del Berlewalde, un nome che all'inizio del 21° secolo è stato strappato all'oblio.
