Il villaggio di Deurne è il soggetto di una delle canzoni più famose nella lingua olandese "Il villaggio". Questa canzone è stata cantata da Wim Sonneveld. È, in termini musicali, una cover di La montagne di Jean Ferrat. Il testo olandese è stato scritto nel 1965 da Friso Wiegersma (sotto lo pseudonimo di Hugo Verhage), il partner di Sonneveld. L'arrangiamento è di Bert Paige, che ha anche diretto l'orchestra. Sonneveld canta emotivamente del "villaggio" di Wiegersma nel rivedere il Deurne danneggiato dal progresso. La famosa frase della canzone, E lungo il vialetto di papà, si riferisce al sentiero accanto alla casa d'infanzia di Wiegersma, l'attuale museo municipale De Wieger a Oude Liesselseweg a Deurne. Questo sentiero ha ricevuto il nome ufficiale Il vialetto di papà il 14 ottobre 2008.
