Nederasselt è un piccolo villaggio rurale situato nella provincia olandese di Gelderland. È uno dei quattro nuclei del comune di Heumen. Oltre a Nederasselt, Heumen, Malden e Overasselt appartengono a questo comune, il cui municipio si trova a Malden.
La prima abitazione conosciuta di Nederasselt risale a circa 2000 anni prima di Cristo. Il luogo è rimasto abitato fino alla fine dell'epoca romana. Successivamente sembra essere rimasto disabitato fino al periodo carolingio, intorno al nono secolo. A causa della mancanza di risorse e conoscenze per coltivare la terra in modo redditizio e a causa delle numerose inondazioni del fiume Mosa, l'area non è stata adatta per l'abitazione per lungo tempo. I primi ritrovamenti di oggetti dopo l'epoca romana risalgono quindi al nono secolo.
