Bemelen è un villaggio nel comune olandese di Eijsden-Margraten. Il villaggio si trova ai margini della valle della Mosa, a est di Maastricht, nel sud della provincia di Limburgo. Nel villaggio vivono circa 580 persone. Bemelen è nato sulla pendenza della valle della Mosa verso l'altopiano di Margraten, nel luogo in cui una strada romana sale verso il Bemelerberg. Nel 1018 Bemelen è stato menzionato per la prima volta in forma scritta e fino al 1794 era un feudo che ricadeva sotto il Capitolo di Nostra Signora di Maastricht. Inizialmente, i tutori erano i signori di Valkenburg; dal 1381 i duchi di Brabant.
