Veenoord è un comune nella provincia olandese di Drenthe, nel comune di Emmen. Il villaggio di Veenoord ha 2080 abitanti. Veenoord forma insieme al villaggio vicino Nieuw-Amsterdam un'unità. Perciò sono chiamati il Villaggio Gemello. Tuttavia, entrambi i villaggi hanno un codice postale autonomo e si sono sviluppati in modo indipendente per lungo tempo. Fino alla ristrutturazione comunale del 1 gennaio 1998, Veenoord apparteneva al comune di Sleen, mentre Nieuw-Amsterdam è sempre appartenuto al comune di Emmen. Il confine tra i due villaggi si trova lungo la Schooldijk e la Veilingstraat.
