Emmen ; Drents: Em'm) è una città nella provincia olandese di Drenthe. È il luogo più grande nell'omonimo comune di Emmen. La località stessa aveva il 1 gennaio 2021 una popolazione di 56.640. Emmen svolge una funzione centrale nella regione di Zuidenveld e oltre. Caratteristica è la particolare struttura urbanistica, che viene anche chiamata 'città aperta e verde'. I nuovi quartieri sono stati costruiti a una distanza relativamente ampia dal nucleo esistente, per preservare aree di valore paesaggistico. Il soprannome di Emmen è Vlinderstad, come riferimento indiretto al precedente Dierenpark Emmen, che nel marzo 2016 è stato sostituito dallo Wildlands Adventure Zoo Emmen.
