Keent è una giovane area naturale. Keent si trovava un tempo nell'Olanda Settentrionale, ma poiché nel 1938 è stato strappato un meandro del Mosa, il villaggio di Keent è stato aggiunto al Brabante Settentrionale. Il vecchio meandro è stato in gran parte riempito. All'inizio di questo secolo, una parte di esso è stata riaperta e collegata al Mosa. Nella zona umida è stata creata una nuova area naturale su una superficie di circa 3 chilometri quadrati. A Keent pascolano greggi di grandi erbivori, cavalli e bovini che mantengono l'area aperta con il loro pascolo e il loro passo.
