Keent es una joven área natural. Keent estuvo alguna vez en Gelderland, pero debido a que en 1938 se cortó un meandro del Mosa, el pueblo de Keent se incorporó a Brabante Septentrional. La antigua meandro fue en su mayoría rellenada. A principios de este siglo, se volvió a abrir en parte y se conectó al Mosa. En la zona de inundación se ha creado nueva naturaleza en una superficie de aproximadamente 3 kilómetros cuadrados. En Keent hay rebaños de grandes herbívoros, caballos y ganado que mantienen el área abierta con su pastoreo y pisoteo.
