Keent est une jeune zone naturelle. Keent se trouvait autrefois dans le Gelderland, mais en raison de la coupure d'un méandre de la Meuse en 1938, le hameau de Keent a été annexé à la Brabant-Septentrional. Le vieux méandre a été en grande partie comblé. Au début de ce siècle, il a été en partie rouvert et connecté à la Meuse. Dans la zone inondable, une nouvelle nature a été créée sur une superficie d'environ 3 kilomètres carrés. Des troupeaux de grands herbivores, de chevaux et de bovins se déplacent à Keent, maintenant la zone ouverte grâce à leurs pâturages et leurs pas.
