L'edificio "Anna Margaretha" (Hoofdstraat 153) fu costruito intorno al 1912 su commissione della famiglia Speelman, che possedeva un'azienda di bulbi a Sassenheim, in uno stile neo-storico noto anche come stile "Um 1800" (dal titolo di un libro tedesco sullo stile "Intorno al 1800"). In questo stile si richiamava lo stile Luigi XVI dell'ultimo quarto del XVIII secolo, ma si potevano notare anche influenze dal Neoclassicismo e dalla Jugendstil di circa 1900. Nei Paesi Bassi, l'esempio più famoso dello stile "Um 1800" è l'edificio De Bijenkorf (1911) ad Amsterdam.
