Il vecchio municipio si trova in Markt a Buren, nella regione di Gelderland, ed è stato in uso dal 1555 al 1985.
L'edificio fu acquistato il 22 gennaio 1554 dal sindaco Griet Wijnen per 525 fiorini d'argento Keysers; in origine, infatti, il municipio era una residenza privata e fino al 1608 l'edificio appariva come una normale casa privata, ma il sindaco e i consiglieri di Buren affidavano ad Adriaen Frederikszoon il compito di ristrutturare l'edificio. In quel momento ricevette una facciata a gradoni con una statuetta di pietra su ciascun gradino e un portico di pietra con statuette sul corrimano delle scale. La lanterna sopra il tetto fu anch'essa collocata in seguito a questa ristrutturazione.
