Dall'alto, la forma allungata e le dimensioni della tenuta sono subito evidenti. Si estende per 3 km di lunghezza e ha una larghezza massima di soli 375 metri. Questo è legato al modo in cui in passato la torba veniva estratta in quest'area.
Diversi edifici hanno avuto sede nella tenuta. Non è più possibile trovare nulla del castello originale di Hoevelaken. L'attuale Huis Hoevelaken risale al 1926 ed è stato costruito su incarico del dott. C.J.K. van Aalst, presidente direttore della Nederlandsche Handel-Maatschappij.
Van Aalst vi portò la sua collezione di dipinti di fama internazionale. L'attuale proprietario è il Rabo Vastgoedgroep.
Il parco e la foresta situati dietro la casa sono di proprietà del Gelders Landschap. Qui si possono trovare animali particolari, come il saettone e diverse specie di pipistrelli. La base del parco e della foresta è costituita dalla bellissima strada centrale che attraversa la tenuta da nord a sud e termina davanti allo scenografico stagno del parco.
