Fort Hedikhuizen presso il villaggio di Hedikhuizen nel comune di Heusden, fu costruito nel 1862. Faceva parte della Zuider Waterlinie ed era utilizzato per proteggere la chiusa delle inondazioni. La chiusa permetteva di far fluire in modo controllato l'acqua dal fiume Maas all'interno delle dighe, permettendo così di allagare una vasta area per proteggere la fortezza di Heusden da un attacco.
