Nel 1949, il consiglio comunale di Kamerik assegnò all'architetto di Woerden H.B.M.J. Worst l'incarico di progettare il municipio. Worst presentò nel 1952 un progetto di un edificio in stile scuola di Delft e questo fu approvato dal consiglio. Dal 1953 al 1955 i lavori furono eseguiti dalla ditta di costruzioni di Kamerik v/h J.J.R. Boers. I costi totali per la costruzione e l'arredamento ammontarono a circa 195.000 fiorini. Il 4 giugno 1954 fu posta la prima pietra dall'incaricata della regina Reinalda e il 23 settembre 1955 il suo successore C.Th.E. conte di Lynden van Sandenburg inaugurò il nuovo municipio insieme al sindaco Breen.
L'edificio funzionò come municipio fino all'abolizione del comune di Kamerik nel 1989. Successivamente fu venduto alla Federazione Cristiana della Polizia e da allora è utilizzato come ufficio. Recentemente, il precedente municipio è stato restaurato, inclusi i rari vetri colorati, donati dal Comitato per l'approvvigionamento alimentare in tempo di guerra.
