La Fossa di Canisvliet è un'area naturale accanto al Canale Gent-Terneuzen, che un tempo era un braccio laterale della Honte. Ha l'etichetta di area naturale Natura 2000, che è una rete europea di aree naturali negli Stati membri dell'Unione Europea. Ci sono alcuni punti di osservazione dove è possibile avvistare uccelli nidificanti e acquatici. La passeggiata attorno alla fossa di Canisvliet è di 5 km e si può estendere l'escursione con un'ita lungo il Molenkreek che si trova dall'altra parte della rotonda, raggiungendo così i 8,5 km di cammino. Facile parcheggio all'inizio della Vissersverkorting (sulla rotonda prima del ponte di Sas van Gent, prendere la terza uscita provenendo dalla N62)
