Canisvlietse Creek is a nature reserve next to the Gent-Terneuzen Canal, once a side arm of the Honte. It has the label of Natura 2000 nature area, which is a European network of nature reserves in the member states of the European Union. There are some observation points where one can spot breeding birds and waterfowl. The walk around the Canisvlietse creek is 5 km, and one can extend the walk with a detour along the Molenkreek located on the other side of the roundabout, making a total of 8.5 km. Easy parking at the beginning of the Vissersverkorting (at the roundabout, take the third exit off the bridge of Sas van Gent coming from the N62)
