La Chiesa di Garmo proviene originariamente dal villaggio di Garmo a Lom, nell'ex contea di Oppland. Fu costruita intorno al 1150 sul sito di una chiesa precedente che si crede sia stata edificata nel 1021 da un capo vichingo. Nel 1730, venne ampliata in una chiesa a croce in legno.
