La Fontana del Pellicano è una fontana manierista-giovannea progettata dallo scultore Marceliano de Araújo.
La fontana fu costruita tra il 1741 e il 1756 e originariamente si trovava nei giardini del Palazzo Arcivescovile di Braga. In seguito, la fontana rimase per diversi anni nel Parque da Ponte , finché non fu spostata nella sua posizione attuale il 30 novembre 1967 durante il mandato di Viriato Nunes.
La fontana è composta da cinque vasche disposte al centro da una vasca più alta delle altre e fiancheggiate da quattro vasche più piccole, che sono coronate da un gruppo scultoreo e si trovano in un serbatoio quadrangolare , che poggia su una base circolare che forma due gradini. Questi ultimi due elementi furono costruiti nel XX secolo e furono progettati dall'architetto comunale Cortez Marques.
Il simbolismo è religioso, legato alla leggenda del pellicano.
