Il fiume Kalix è uno dei quattro principali fiumi della Norrland, nel nord della Svezia, che non sono stati toccati da costruzioni idrauliche. È lungo 461 chilometri, scorre fino alla catena montuosa Kebnekaise nel comune di Kiruna. A sud-est scorre attraverso la Lapponia; e a sud attraverso la contea di Norrbotten, sfociando nel Golfo di Botnia a sud-est di Kalix.
